Undergraduate Scholarships

The following three types of scholarships are available to undergraduates:

1. General Scholarships spacer
General scholarships are financial endowments granted to the University from various agencies, both inside and outside the University, and are further divided into:

1.1 Free scholarships for one academic year – these scholarships are available on a yearly basis and are worth between 4,000 – 10,000 baht per year

1.2 Free scholarships until graduation – these scholarships are available to freshmen and sophomores until they complete their four-year education and are worth 5,000 – 20,000 baht per year.

1.3 Conditional scholarships – these scholarships stipulate that recipients are obligated to work for a specific agency upon graduation for 1 – 3 times the number of years that they have received the scholarships. The scholarships are worth 50,000 – 120,000 baht.

1.4 Endowment scholarships – these scholarships come from the endowments for the University which uses the money and its dividends and interest as educational funds.

1.5 Government’s scholarships – these scholarships come directly from the budget of the government.

2. Students Scholarship Fund 
The University has set up student scholarship funds for needy students which consist of the following types of financial support:

2.1 King Mongkut’s Diamond Scholarship – these scholarships are available to undergraduate and graduate students who have satisfactory academic standing for the duration of study as stipulated in the curriculum and under the following conditions:
- King Mongkut’s diamond scholarships for fostering special academic skills
- King Mongkut’s diamond scholarships for fostering skills in sports, leadership, innovation, arts, and culture

2.2 Free scholarships – these scholarships are offered to needy students who receive little or no support from their families. The allocation of funding is based on case-by-case as deemed appropriate by a university committee

2.3 Student loans – this is money that students can borrow and use for their education. The loan approval will be decided on a case-by-case basis as deemed appropriate by a university committee

2.4 Emergency loans – this is money that students who have educational emergency can borrow. The loan is 5,000 baht per request and there is no interest.

2.5 Scholarships for excellent academic performance – this is money whose objective is to subsidize and help students who have excellent academic standing and build reputation for the University

2.6 Work scholarships – this is money used to encourage students to utilize their free time by working so that they can make extra money and gain valuable working experience at the same time.

3. Government’s Educational Loan Fund
Students may receive information about the various categories of educational scholarships from the following sources:

1. Information bulletin board of each faculty or each department

2. Information bulletin board of Education and Career Guidance Center on the 2nd Floor of the President’s Building
